My name is Emily and for my most of my adult life I’ve worked in Corporate America. But I wasn’t always a corporate stooge. As a kid, I loved creating things. All kinds of things; from paintings and sculptures, dioramas, miniatures, funny videos, poems, clothes, overly serious dance routines, you name it.

For the first 21 years of my life, I was a child and an artist at heart. But when I started working, I shelved that creative part of me. I “grew up” and dove headfirst into the business side of my mind. I don’t regret it because that is what supports the life I have now. But business isn’t all that I am; it never was, and it never will be.

jooklab is a home for the rest of me. For that unencumbered and unabashed child who danced like no one was watching. For the girl who made things not to be productive, but to be expressive, even when she didn’t know what she was trying to say yet.
